Severe Dehydration & Malnutrition Cases in Knoxville, Tennessee & Surrounding Areas
Severe Dehydration
To determine if a patient is severely dehydrated, we look at the patient's creatinine, sodium, and BUN levels. These typically reveal how dehydrated the patient is even if other records in the chart suggest the patient is being hydrated. Dehydration results when your loved one is not receiving the care they deserve.
Malnutrition
While malnutrition cases review a patient's albumin levels, dieticians also examine evidence of vitamin deficiency in a patient's skin, hair, and nail beds. In addition, dieticians look at muscle wasting, weight loss, and the daily meal records. If these records don't align or your loved one’s condition doesn’t justify significant weight loss, there could be a case for malnutrition.

How We Can Help
We work with dieticians to determine whether your loved one has suffered from severe dehydration or malnutrition. If they are displaying these characteristics, it could also be a sign of further neglect. If you believe your loved one has suffered from these issues, you can meet with our team.
